We suggest you use our driving directions below instead of Mapquest.com or other internet mapping sites which are notorious for giving the wrong freeway exit, so beware! The ONLY correct exit off of the A6 is MARENE/ALBA.

From Malpensa Airport-- about 2 hours

Out of the Airport, go in the direction for A8 towards Milan. Then, when you come to the A8. about 15 minutes drive time, take A8 north to get to the A26. At the A26 interchange toll booth, take A26 for Genova. After about an hour drive time, take the A21 in the direction of Torino (Turin). Exit at Asti Est then immediately take the Alba direction. There is a new Autostrada connecting Asti and Alba now open! Take this all the way, apx 30 minutes, going in the direction CUNEO, until the freeway ends turning into sort of a smaller freeway, then bearing LEFT, going in the direction of BAROLO. There are 2 places you must bear LEFT for Barolo. After the second Left, you will go through a rounder Straight, then shortly after exit RIGHT for Serralunga, Grinzane Cavour & Sinio. At bottom of exit, turn LEFT, go one half km to stop sign - you are in the center of Gallo/Grinzane. Turn LEFT, go 100 meters and at the Bargilio Rosso Pizzeria on your right, turn RIGHT where you will see a large stack of the blue & white town signs for Grizane Cavour, Sinio, Bossolasco & Montelupo. Go 300 meters and turn RIGHT again where you will see a Large sign for SINIO - Bossolasco. Go 7 km to the rounder with a large copper sign saying "LANGHE". Here you turn LEFT for Sinio, taking either left (going up the back way to the top of Sinio) or right (going through the village) both ending up in the main piazza at the top of the village where you will find Hotel Castello di Sinio at the highest point, surrounded by a medieval rock wall.

From Downtown Milan or Linate Airport

Take the A7 freeway towards Genova. After about an hour drive time, take the A21 in the direction of Torino (Turin). Just past Alessandria, Exit at Asti Est then immediately take the Alba direction. There is a new Autostrada connecting Asti and Alba now open! Driving Directions from Turin (Torino) or Torino Caselle Airport --about 1 hour. Also from the French Riviera and Savona in Liguria

Take the A6 Autostrada. From Turin you go in the direction of SAVONA. From Savona you go in the direction of TORINO. From the French Riviera you go to Savona then on to the A6 towards TORINO. In ALL cases the ONLY Exit to take is MARENE/CHERASCO.

Take the CHERASCO/MARENE Exit, that also says ALBA. !!THERE IS A NEW AUTOSTRADA EXTENSION OPEN NOW!! Take the direction for ASTI!! (FROM THIS POINT IT SHOULD TAKE YOU ABOUT A HALF HOUR TO REACH US)

After taking the direction for ASTI, follow this until the Autostrada ends, passing exits for Cheraso Sud and Cherasco centro. Pay .90 toll at the pay station which lets you out into a large rounder. Go 3/4 of the way around the rounder to the Leftfor LA MORRA. Follow signs all the way up the hill about 7 km to LA MORRA. Just before the town of LA MORRA you will come to a small rounder with an ERG gas station just to the right. Go straight and continue to the stop sign in La Morra. At the stop sign turn LEFT, go down the hill to the rounder. At the rounder go Straight in the direction of Alba and Santa Maria. Go all the way to the bottom and continue straight about 5 km until you reach the stop in middle of the village of Gallo.

Turn LEFT, go 100 meters and at the Bargilio Rosso Pizzeria on your right, turn RIGHT where you will see a large stack of the blue & white town signs for Grizane Cavour, Sinio, Bossolasco & Montelupo. Go 300 meters and turn RIGHT again where you will see a Large sign for SINIO - Bossolasco. Go 7 km to the rounder with a large copper sign saying "LANGHE". WELCOME TO HOTEL CASTELLO DI SINIO! Our driveway is around on the back. You can drive your car up the driveway to unload your car, but PLEASE drive VERY SLOWLY as you cross through the gate!

ALTERNATIVELY, if come on surface roads, here called the "Fondo Valle", the old directions below are relevant: From Bra or the OLD exit from A6, go in the of CHERASCO/ALBA. You will go through a series of rounders, the last one having a fountain and planted with pink roses. Take the direction for Alba and you will wind down a small hill and come to another rounder 1 km later. Take the direction straignt for Pollenzo/Alba. After 3 - 4 km, you will come to rounder in Pollenzo. Turn Right in the direction of Roddi/Gallo/Barolo/Alba. Continuing on this road for 2 - 3 km, going over the river where you will see to your Left two large ancient brick bridge standards without a span. One half km after going over the bridge you will turn sharply to your LEFT towards Alba. Go another 2 km or so and coming in to Roddi, go through two rounders towards Alba. Do not go to Roddi Centro!
Just after the last rounder, DO NOT take the Left for Alba, turn RIGHT for Barolo, Grinzane Cavour OR instead continue Straight to Gallo/Grinzane Cavour/Barolo. If you choose Straight, you will finally come to a stop sign and T intersection. Turn Right in the direction of Gallo/Grinzane Cavour/Barolo, etc. You will pass through part of the town of Gallo which has a series of small strip shopping centers and then arrive in the main commercial part of Gallo. On your Left in the center of town and before crossing the little bridge, is a tall stack of the blue town signs which include Valle alloria/Sinio/Grinzane Cavour. Turn Left here towards these towns! In 10 meters or so turn Right towards Sinio which is cleary marked. From that point it is 7 km to Sinio. See above for final details for finding Hotel Castello di Sinio.
